Changing minds

I was going to post on my thoughts regarding the recent passing of Jerry Fallwell. then I thought perhaps I should compose my thoughts better so that I don't present myself as being preachy or gleeful in the matter. Because really, I am neither. Then, all thoughts on the Reverend were superceded by the following:

Have you ever gone without something for a long time, and then finally allowed yourself to indulge? And experenced that feeling of "I just can't possibly get enough"?

I'm feeling that way right this moment. So I thought I would share it with you all.

There's just nothing quite like mint chip ice cream. sigh.

I didn't know Falwell had passed away until I came over here.

And, um, I'm sure every dude who reads your blog will assume the whole time that you were talking about Mint CC Ice Cream. Really.

I feel so guilty now. Heh.

Jerry Falwell was a friend of mine. I did not meet him in person, but he talked to me via telephone a few times when I was going through some of the worse times of my life.

I remember, in the 1980's, the first time I spoke with him. I was watching his show, "The Old TIme GOspel Hour", and decided to call the number listed because I was dealing with some incredibly difficult issues.

The person on the phone, after hearing my story, asked me to hold. Jerry Falwell came to the phone and spoke with me personally.

After giving me some advice, and praying with me, he sent me a book, "Why Bad THings Happen to Good People" and other things to help me deal with the problems. I used what I learned and the tools he sent me to help others, including my own mother.

He is a very humble man...not the demonic hate-filled nazi that he has been caricatured into.Don't believe that caricatured can be exagerrated? Look at what the general opinion of Dat Phan is for a small example...not much like the real Dat that some know.

On to ice cream.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is my favorite, but every once in a while, when I need an extra kick of flavor, I turn to Mint CC.

efreze: Is it ocld in ehre or is it ujst em?
