thunk, thunk, thunk...

that's the sound of me banging my head on my desk. He came back over, I hid at my desk. Coworker is alternately telling me do deal with it, and to do it nicely. She's being very simpathetic and understanding.

My tummy ache came back.

I was agreeing with your co-worker, then I deleted my comment. I got to thinking: what's wrong with getting to know him better? How do you know it's not a tummy ache, but butterflies? Okay, you probably know it's a tummy ache, but my point is: don't dismiss him so soon. It was only two dates, he's obviously interested, and he's attentive. He didn't try to make a move on you during the movie, and he didn't "expect" anything after the game. Why not let him wait a week or so while you think it over, then see what happens on date three? If you're not repulsed by him, that is, and you didn't mention any throwing up on his shoes.

Hmmm, interesting way of thinking about that "fringes"...I was agreeing with co-worker but reading "fringes" comments made me second-guess that.

totally not even slightly interested. I didn't even consider them dates. In fact I worried that he did consider them dates. It is very much not butterflies, it is queasy. I've known this man for a couple of years and have never even considered dating him. And I consider just about everyone if even for a moment.

Giada Delaurentis.

She hosts a show on Food Network called Everyday Italian.

She's good, and completely adorable.

GM, even though you and I are friends, and I know I would totally enjoy doing anything with you, from making soap to spinning, from goat herding to napkin blueprint origami, from going to the movies to going to a baseball game (I am one of the few baseball haters in AMerica...I think it is George Will's fault because he keeps talking about politics as though it were baseball)...

...and I know you would have a fantastic time with me and would find you want to be with me all the time because, you would always be laughing, you would have your space when you needed it, you would be taken care of, you would have a defender, but...

...I want this to be clear...

...I would never date you...

First, I am married, and when this marriage is over, I never want a relationship again because it is too much work. Second, I am 10 years older than you, and I would feel more like your father. Third, our religions would butt heads WAY TOO MUCH.

However, I would love to be with you as a friend.

Sensei, I am aware of this and would never be concerned about your interest level in me. We can be friends.

I may. My brother lives in National City, and I was planning on a short vacation, so I might be out there.

I will keep you informed.
