I believe the Knights of Columbus petitioned to have it added in 1953 or 1954. The original writer was a minister who also was a devout believer in separation of church and state, and made sure to leave all mention of God out of the Pledge of Allegiance. I feel it is only right to uphold the orginal author's intent.

Thanks for this post.Zubehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10625067612757615790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7424437.post-1133911376571899862005-12-06T15:22:00.000-08:002005-12-06T15:22:00.000-08:00She uses it as a tool to get what she wants from g...She uses it as a tool to get what she wants from guys, especially one of the partners at the law firm.Senseihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00491064563076330773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7424437.post-1133897187286350392005-12-06T11:26:00.000-08:002005-12-06T11:26:00.000-08:00I agree with you that this woman should be slapped...I agree with you that this woman should be slapped silly. Abortion should be used as a last result, not an option of birth control. There are so many safe BC options that don't involve abortion. she is an immature, selfish woman. But I wouldn't want to take away the coices of the many for the idiocy of a few. I generally suggest abstenance to the young women I talk to. Sex is a big responsibility with huge consequences. My mother taught me that.Ginamonsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14708004928074429212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7424437.post-1133895826007936582005-12-06T11:03:00.000-08:002005-12-06T11:03:00.000-08:00My wife works at a law firm. Not for health risks, but rather so she would not be inconvenienced by being burdened with a child.

We both know she should be slapped senseless, but this is what goes with allowing abortions at the demand of a pregnant mother.

I am able to allow the woman decide if she is in danger, and I can understand the issues with rape and incest, but I do not see a reason to allow abortions for the sake of convenience.

I am pro-choice, I just wish abortion wasn't chosen for the sake of avoiding inconvenience. There are many more choices, like allowing a child to be adopted.Senseihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00491064563076330773noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7424437.post-1133892781315181312005-12-06T10:13:00.000-08:002005-12-06T10:13:00.000-08:00I would agree, that if a baby can exist outside th...I would agree, that if a baby can exist outside the womb, it is a living being. I also agree that a child is alive from conception. But sometimes difficult choices have to be made for the good of everyone, including the child. It would be the most difficult decision any woman would make. I hope I never need to. It's so much easier to have an opinion when you aren't in that situation.Ginamonsterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14708004928074429212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7424437.post-1133844397114295112005-12-05T20:46:00.000-08:002005-12-05T20:46:00.000-08:00GM, you hit a lot of topics that I feel strongly a...GM, you hit a lot of topics that I feel strongly about. However, I would have to refrain to keep from being emotional. If we discussed it, I would seek to bring you to see things my way and agree they are the correct stances.

I doubt that will happen, emotions would be strong.

I will try one.

You religious belief is "harm none". Would you agree that if a baby can exist outside the womb, it is a living being? I know you would not want to impose your beliefs on everyone else.

The rest of the rant will have to wait for another time.Senseihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00491064563076330773noreply@blogger.com
